Across Southern Africa and beyond, the Mission of Lutheran Churches organises workshops, theological courses, community events and worship milestones. Each event is an opportunity to grow in faith, equip leaders, and build lasting fellowship in Christ. Whether it’s a youth camp in Newcastle, a preaching workshop in Malawi, or an ordination in Soweto — these moments reflect the heartbeat of a Church that is alive, active, and grounded in the Gospel.
MLC’s training workshops are designed to strengthen lay leaders and future pastors with sound Lutheran teaching. These events provide hands-on, Scripture-based instruction in preaching, teaching, and worship, with a clear emphasis on faithfulness to the Lutheran Confessions.
LTS intensive courses serve as the backbone of theological formation in Southern Africa. These training blocks gather students from South Africa and neighbouring countries for rigorous academic study, spiritual growth, and practical formation led by experienced lecturers and missionaries.
Local events bring together children, youth, and families in a spirit of Christian fellowship. Camps, Bible studies, and family-oriented gatherings create spaces for spiritual growth, encouragement, and fun — rooted in the Church’s teaching and communal life.
From new congregations and rededicated churches to ordinations and vicar installations, these events mark significant moments in the mission and ministry of the Church. They are joyful opportunities to reflect on God’s faithfulness and the growth of the Lutheran presence across the region.
MLC’s diaconal events reflect the Gospel’s compassion. Seasonal gatherings, harvest festivals, and family-focused activities like those at St. Martin’s Village support local community life and proclaim Christ through acts of kindness and joy.
