Rooted Together in Christ

Serving Families in Faith and Fellowship

Families are at the heart of church life. At the Mission of Lutheran Churches, we believe the home is the first place where the Gospel is heard, lived, and passed on. That’s why we support parents, children, and youth through local ministries that strengthen faith, deepen community, and equip every generation to walk with Christ.

Faith begins at home and grows in the Church

The family is the first classroom of faith. Through prayer, teaching, and example, parents plant seeds that are nourished by the life of the congregation.

Christ is present when families learn, grow

Faith flourishes when families gather around God’s Word, live in forgiveness, and serve their neighbours in love — each day shaped by Christ.

Help is Our Goal

What We Offer Families

Sunday School

Our congregations offer regular Sunday school during the service — teaching Bible stories, prayer, and hymns in ways children can understand and remember.

Youth Gatherings

From confirmation class to youth Bible camps, teenagers are encouraged to grow in their faith, ask questions, and build Christ-centred friendships.

Parent Support

We encourage parents in their calling to teach the faith at home. Lay teachers and pastors are happy to guide, share resources, or pray alongside families.

Supporting Children in Body, Mind and Spirit

Preschool and Education Ministry

MLC helps operate and support several preschools and early education centres across KwaZulu-Natal. These aren’t just schools — they’re places where little ones start each day with God’s Word, where play and prayer belong together.

Featured Schools:
Little Genius Preschool (Durban)
Phila Ndwandwe Crèche (Umlazi)
St Martin’s Village Kindergarten (Newcastle)
Megan du Plessis Special Needs School (Margate)
