Missionary Christoph Weber has been employed by the Mission of Lutheran Churches since 1998. He initially worked amongst the San in the Kalahari for over a decade in and around Serowe, Botswana.
Since 2012, he has been working with the migrants from the Congo in Durban, South Africa. From this outreach a new church plant was started at the premises of the Luther Church in Glenwood. Since 2003 he has additionally planted a new church in Ballito, northeast of Durban.
In 2020, he earned his PhD in church history from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis (USA), focusing on the Lutheran Missions perspective on apartheid.
He currently serves as a guest lecturer in church history at the Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) in Pretoria.
Missionary Weber is married to Sigrid (née Köhne). They have four adult children: Cornelia, David, Lydia and Maria.
